Illuminating vegetables, showcased to 2500 people - Bloom98 was described in gardening magazines as ‘the most original (UK) arts event’ of 1998. Over twenty artists were commissioned to take-up residence at two allotment sites - transforming it from day into night. Marvellous indeed! As the Director of this self intiated idea, Harry Palmer’s project grew from a special friendship and collaboration with the national allotment champion, Mr Bernard Ostler (1992- 94) into a major touring arts show that brought smiles and celebration….
