About

On this web site you can find out about many of my creative activities (mainly UK based). The majority of the artwork created concerns work that is largely self initiated and driven by a desire to explore ideas, however seemingly trivial or eccentric. The nature of the artworks range from (discrete) performances and talks, walks, installations, short film, events and publications for example. They are enthusiastically removed from the art of organisation / institutional concerns. Above all, the stereotypes of the day to day world of conditioned ways of living are temporarily shifted by way of creating living poetry - art as I see it (often amongst others in the physical world).

Occasional harmless pranks have been anonymously self initiated on-line, with the aim to break the serious nature of the artworld’s culture of dominance. Art can be fun and shared outside the confines of those who try and determine reality. ‘Art-not-as-you-know-it’ is a core aim of my artworks to date.

2004: The Sirens Projects (a seven day mythological circumnavigation by narrowboat around the Birmingham canal networks). Commissioned by British Waterways.

Bespoke residencies range from formal positions as the writer in residence at a HMP maximum security prison(s), through to commissioned mythological investigations on behalf of British Waterways. A more recent commission involved the inaugral opening performance guided tour(s) at Heron Corn Mill in Cumbria (UK) / 2009. Several commissions from Friction Arts ltd (short film) and Birmingham City Council in regard to a three year social journalist project (knex3.org) have taken place recently (2008).

I am still compiling documentation on this site, especially experimental film which will be digitalised soon.
